How much did you spend on your company website? If your website doesn’t meet the four criteria below, then all that money you spent? Yeah, wasted.
Criteria 1
Your website must be beautiful. Your website plays a large part in establishing your company image and bringing in customers. For example, an interior design company revealed that they spend $300,000 to $500,000 on making showrooms, not including property rental fees. Yet, the number of visitors to these showrooms hardly exceeded 2,000 each year. Later, the company switched to digital and created a beautiful website using only 1/30 of their previous costs, then spent 1/10 the money on digital marketing. The result was 40,000 visitors in a year, a thousand who filled out a price inquiry. You don’t need me to calculate the margins to tell you how big of a difference that is.
Criteria 2
So far pretty basic, right? Well, the next point tells us that your website must not only be beautiful, but its code must be search engine-friendly. 83% of web users use Google, and within these users, 97% never browse past the first page of their search results. If your website’s code is well-written, then SEO and e-marketing become much easier to do. This is especially important for single-purchase products or services, such as insurance sales, real-estate sales, interior design etc. Since these services don’t get loyal customers, customer acquisition becomes especially crucial.
Criteria 3
The third point is especially important to e-commerce websites: a smooth customer experience. If your new and returning customers can register and login, shop, pay, and finish their purchase simply and quickly without any help, they you could make money as you sleep.
Criteria 4
Your website must successfully service the needs of your current customers. For example if your customer has any difficulties or questions in their purchasing process and need to contact your company, they should be able to reach you through your website’s email or comments section. As a business, you don’t want to anger a customer through a misunderstanding or poor service, and have the customer go to your google business page and write a bad review or discuss their poor experience on social media, right?
To conclude, the four criteria that your website must hit are: 1. The website must be visually appealing as it reflects your company image; 2. The website’s code must be search engine-friendly, ensuring that your website will be able to continuously bring in new customers; 3. The website must provide a smooth customer experience and facilitate the purchasing process; 4. The website must serve the needs of your current customers well.
If your website successfully meets the four targets, then congratulations! But if you’re still missing a few points, it’s okay since you can send your company’s website link, contact information (phone number, email) and name to [email protected], and every week we will randomly select 10 companies and create an optimization plan for you.
