Hey guys, this is the second part of this free web design course from me, the Calgary web design expert. If you haven’t read the previous part, you can read “Free Web Design Course for 2022 | Web Design Calgary Expert Explains | pt1″ here.
Understanding how to build websites is a very, very valuable skill that you can make money off. You can do this remotely so you can work with clients all around the world because we’re working on the web. We’re using a laptop or a computer to build things that are online and so meeting with your clients in person doesn’t really matter. You don’t have to print something and give it to your client. You can do the work remotely and even if you’re not going to end up doing client work, it’s still a huge benefit. If you’re going to have your own side project or business yourself, just being able to take your ideas and put them on the web and build your own things on the web is very good. I think those skills are going to be super super valuable for you. If you want us to build your own website, please visit our Calgary Web Design Services.
What Software Are Good For Web Designers? | Web Design Calgary Expert Explains
We will be going over the question: what software do you need to get started as a web designer?
We’re going to cover all the software you need for web design and exactly how to use them to get started as a web designer. I want to make sure that you have the right software to get started and then you can play around with it for a little bit. I want to cover all the software that you need and why you need these different software to do your web design. This is not gonna be in-depth tutorials for these software. It’s just gonna be a little bit of an intro later on in the course. We’re gonna have a little bit more in-depth videos about these software themselves but now I want to make sure that you have what you need to at least get started. So there’s basically three types of software that you’re gonna need when you’re designing for the web.
- The first one is an image editing software,
- The second one is vector editing software,
- The third one is a screen design software and;
- Maybe as a bonus, an animation software but we’re not gonna dive into animation right now.
So let’s talk about why these three different software’s in this blog. My personal favorite image editing software is Adobe Photoshop because of the many tools and easy of use. My favorite vector editing software is Adobe Illustrator and my favorite screen design software is Adobe XD. Yes, these do cost money and they are somewhat expensive. However, there are free or different alternatives to these software depending on where you are and how much you know about web designing. You need to understand the principles and then you can apply them in whatever software you choose to work with at the end of the day. Understanding the basic principle, “why do we need these types of things?” Well, the main focus is their purpose. For photo editing software, like Adobe Photoshop, they are mainly good for editing high quality photos and have many tools that makes it easier. It EDITS an existing image and can add onto it. Compared to Adobe Illustrator, you wouldn’t have the tools to edit an image there. Adobe Illustrator, however, is really good for creating designs. They are mainly used to make logos and art designs. They have tools that help the creation of something. I’ve been using them for almost 20 years right now and I do like the Adobe stuff because I’m used to using them for my web designing career. I know that there are other alternatives. Make sure that you play around with the software so that you can keep following along this course and developing your skills as a web designer.
